This is an unusual time for us at Literacy Unlimited.
From September, 2020 we are encouraging all tutoring to take place remotely – via text, phone, mail and video-conferencing. All tutor meetings and workshops will also take place remotely (using Zoom) or through online modules. Our physical resources (books and games) will be accessible but only via appointment.
We know this will be a challenging time and many adjustments will need to take place. To support all our tutors and learners (existing and new), we have prepared a set of guidelines for the coming months.
Please, take time to read our guidelines on:
- Arranging sessions with your learner, reporting volunteer hours, notifying us about missing sessions
- Making appointments to visit the LU office, what to expect when you visit, protocols for borrowing items from the resource centre
- The role of tutors, learners and LU staff in ensuring a safe, online learning environment
