As a tutor, it is more important to understand how a person reads rather than how well a person reads!
Creating ways for your learner to practice their reading fluency and comprehension is difficult – especially if you are working remotely!
In this series of posts, you will be thinking about how to manage and create reading activities for your learner in an online session.
Before you start, think about the session activities you would like to do with your learner. Ask yourself these questions:
- Who (or what) will be doing the physical act of reading?
- What materials or texts will you be reading?
- Who has those texts?
- Where will you read – on a screen, a web page, a workbook, paper, a whiteboard?
The guidance on reading remotely is divided into three parts:
